Subject: Google Android O/S on the iPhone?
I wonder if it is possible to use the google android operating system
on the apple iPhone? Has anyone tried this? Or will we have to wait
until the iPhone sdk comes out. Because linux can run on windows so I
don't see why android won't run on the iPhone.

Regards,

First, the Linux kernel seems to support Qualcomm MSM7K family of
devices currently.
And the iPhone is not a open device for you to put things on it.

m.... we do not see any hacking to run any Linux OS on iPhone
currently (we only see some hacking to install 3rd party native AP on
iPhone on top of the iPhone MacOSX)

So it will be hard to see this in the near feature in my opinion.

If Google only encourages Java application on Android, then it
shouldn't be too hard to port the Android Java VM and the
corresponding Android SDK for java to iPhone as a few user-level
libraries and applications. It's not necessary to port the whole linux
kernel of Android to iPhone to achieve application level
compatibility. Won't it be nice to have an icon on your jailbreaked
iPhone, after clicking it, the whole iPhone UI will be switched to the
Android UI ?

I bet someone will do this once the source code of Android SDK is
released :-) It should be a fun project to work with.
